Floor lamp • Gatto

Gatto was designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1960 for Italian FLOS. It is big enough for the floor, but can also stand on a table, but here it is big. It gives a diffused light.

The screen is stretched out on a metal frame and is produced by spraying the frame with a "cocoon" resin and then spraying it with a transparent varnish. It feels rubbery. So it is not paper, but a reasonably robust and very light shell.
